Lately........

Well I am here to report that turning 30 was in fact NOT the end of the world. I actually didn't shed the first tear. I had such a special birthday weekend. Friday my very dear friend Faith took me to dinner and the movies. We saw Crazy Stupid Love and I have to say it was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I highly recommend it. My sweet coworkers surprised me with a cake and little party in the break room. Then on Sunday my mom cooked me my favorite meal and her and Colby made me a birthday cake. Monday which was my actual birthday, I met two of the best friends a girl could ask for for lunch at Mi Casita. Thank you Jesus they did not sing to me and put whip cream on my face. I did not get so lucky that evening when Jason and our friends good friends the Driskells took me to Chili's........ I gave specific orders for no singing but instead I got serenaded by all the waiters and waitresses there. All in all my birthday was great and I can't wait to see what God has in store for my 30's.

Colby was proud of himself because he decorated it :)

You know he had to help me blow out my candles! Thank goodness I didn't have 30 to blow out.

Me and Lacey at Mi Casita. Lacey is the oldest (not in age but in longevity haha) that I have. We were best friends in the 1st grade and have been able to stay friends into our 3's. Yes I said OUR. I joined her club.

My sweet Noel. I feel the need to mention she is 30 too. haha see 30 isn't so bad..... all your friends are doing it ;)

I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends!

Jason's quote of the day : "she is now officially my old lady"   He may have received a punch or two that day. Gotta love him though. He always can make me laugh.

This is my cake from work. They said they asked for the brightest colors so that I would feel young. No black roses!

So what would a blog be without some Colby updates?!? A funny quote while tucking him in the other night. Mom I know who  God is but what does God do..... like what is his job? I said well what do you think Colby? His reply..... I think he just sits around and makes everyone heavenly.  He loves to tell me about his dreams as soon as he wakes up, I guess because they are still fresh on his mind. This is my favorite part of my ride to work in the morning. I tried working on some math with him one morning this week on the way to school. I guess I aggravated him because he finally said "mom can we please just play the quite game the rest of the way"

Here are some fun snaps of the week:

This is a big deal for us. Colby has been terrified of the pool which I must say has been wonderful for me. I am always scared of him jumping in and drowning without anyone seeing him. This year out of nowhere he gained his confidence and started jumping off the diving board.....with floaties. He will swim in the shallow end without them but hopefully by next year he will be swimming like a fish.

Ok this kid can seriously play laser tag. I thought he was too young and really let him go in just for fun. Well he proved me wrong! He placed 3rd out of all the kids. He had the best time. I now know where to take him when he needs to get rid of some energy!

This is Colby and his girlfriend Eileen aka Leenie Meanie. They are too cute. We tried our first sleepover Friday night. Colby was so excited. Unfortunately about 10:30 Leenie  missed her mommy and her daddy and her brother and her kitty and really wanted to go home. I couldn't stand to see her upset so after a little consoling didn't work we made the trip to Laurel to take her home. Colby was upset but I assured him we would try it again soon.

The most exciting thing going on lately is at my church! We have a new pastor Bro. Keith Ulmer and he is wonderful. I have enjoyed just the few Sundays he has been here and am so excited to see the wonderful things are church is going to do with his help. If you don't have anywhere you are currently going or looking for a new church home we would LOVE to have you at West Ellisville Baptist Church. We have an amazing kids program and take alot of responsibility in planting the seeds of knowledge in our kids. Hope you all have a wonderful week!
