I've been a bad blogger......

So back in November I wrote this elaborate, beautiful blog about Thanksgiving and what all I was thankful for and it just never actually made it to my blog. So here it is all summed up..... I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, my husband and child, my parents, my sister, all family and friends, my health, my job, my cell phone, diet coke, that the elections were over,  my Church family, flip flops and pinterest! Thanksgiving was rather quite this year. Jason had to work as usual so Colby and I spent the evening with my parents and Lawson family. Like most everyone else, we ate too much and crashed early. Let me bring you up to speed since I left you last.....

Colby's girlfriend Bayleigh turned 5. We attended a very fun party at Mitchell Farms and these two stopped to pose for a very sweet picture.

The very same day we added a new member to our family. Please feel sorry for this kitty...... Colby loves to torture her as you can clearly see. Her name is Cami and she is attached to us very much. She takes turns sleeping with each of us. I think she likes Colby a little bit better when he is sleeping.

If the fair was a holiday, it would be mine and Jasons favorite of the year! We spend entirely too much money and eat way too much but we have a wonderful time every year. Colby was FINALLY tall enough to ride everything so we were able to enjoy it much more.

The fair is a tradition for us to go with our good friends Jason and Noel Phillips. Warren and Colby rode all the rides together and even little Wyatt got to join them a time or two.

Who wouldn't want to be Iron man for Halloween right?!?  We kept it very low key this year and just attended treats in the streets at JCJC. Colby was a little bored until........

He met his hero!!! Colby is OBSESSED with power rangers so to meet their leader (the red ranger) was pure awesomeness! He was very kind to pose for a picture with Colby and even show him a few moves.

I am a tad obsessed with Pinterest. This was one creation of many I have made lately.

Look who came to Dixie Electric!

Telling Santa that he wanted a bow and arrow for Christmas. He then asked was he on the good list. Santa promptly lied and said yes..... Mommy had already practiced the correct reply to this answer with Santa earlier but I guess Santa didn't have the heart to tell Colby the truth....

We got to lead the Ellisville Christmas Parade with Daddy in his police car. Colby waved at each person till he said his arm hurt really bad and he asked if he could stop.

Dixie Christmas Awards Party

We had to have Christmas with my brother and sister in law a little early this year because he works offshore and will be gone for Christmas.

Isn't he absolutely handsome? I tell you, what he lacks in behavior he more than makes up for in looks.

Typical Colby...... do you see that T Rex had to pose too?

I am looking forward to this Christmas season. My favorite things are the different smells, the lights, the food, the fellowship, the music and the joy but MOST important to me is remembering the real reason for the season. I have the most special gifts I could ask for already. They are a treasure unlike any other and make my life worth living every single day. I love you Jason and Colby more than you will ever know. I am so blessed beyond reason and no gift will ever overshadow that. Thank you Jesus for your ultimate sacrifice.... for you truly did love us enough to come to this earth, be born in a manger, live 33 pure years on this earth setting the ultimate example, and dying on the cross for me. I am unworthy and humbled at that very thought. I hope each of you have a very Merry Christmas from my family to yours.

FUN-tober Part 1

So far October has been extremely fun and very busy.  It started out with a very fun visit to Mitchell Farms. Warning.... picture overload ;)

                    Cheese Mom Hurry Up!!!

                       This was a HUGE hit!!

                 How sweet

      Beautiful!!!

                        He posed really good here

                      Picture with Mommy

Finally Picked our pumpkin to paint!

Then on October 10 my lil man turned the big 5 years old! He asked his daddy to take him on a motorcycle ride for his birthday so of course his daddy jumped right on that. Yes we get looks and stares from onlookers at a 5 year old riding a motorcycle but he loves it and has hundreds of dollars protecting his little brain!

I kid with Jason that he looks like Jim Carey off of Dumb and Dumber!

The next night my sister Paige got to crown at the South Jones Jr High Beauty Pageant since she won last year! We were there to cheer her on! She was beautiful as ever!

That next Saturday we had Colby a small birthday party at the park and invited some of his best friends. It was special to see him play with each of his friends.

Matthew, Aidyn, Bayleigh, Colby, Leenie, Collin, Blair and Jackson who is MIA

We painted faces.....

(he immediately took this off as he stated he was not a cat)

We then played on the playground....

Then we ate cake! Apparently Colby is the only living soul who still loves power rangers......There were no power ranger  Party supplies to be found....anywhere....only time google has ever failed me!  So thank the good Lord above McDonald's was giving away power ranger figures in happy meals this month so I stocked up on several and decorated my own Power Ranger cake. I think I did pretty good! Let me clarify Corner Market made the cake.... I simply placed the action figures on there....

                                         Make a wish Colby.......

Then it was time for his favorite part....

What a fun day this was! That evening we took him to Gattitown where we played for almost 2 hours, then we shopped a little before heading home.

The next Saturday we went back to Mitchell farms with our church! We had a great time once again. Here a few more snaps from this trip.

These kids are such a blessing as well as the ladies who take time out of their lives every week to teach them. I am forever grateful to them as well as being apart of that ministry. It has changed my life forever!

We still have the fair as well as Halloween left for this month so there will be  a Funtober part 2 to come soon. I hope each of you are having a great month and would like to take the opportunity once again to invite you to West Ellisville Baptist Church! Oh and did I mention 30 really isn't so bad....

What Makes a Mommy?

I am convinced that I lost half of my energy, memory, competence, grammar, intelligence, function, cleanliness and patience after childbirth. If you are a mommy then you TOTALLY get this! For what we lost, we gained love in our hearts we never dreamed was possible, the ability to get puked on.....repeatedly,,,, without puking ourselves....well most of the time that is, the art of changing a dirty diaper without ever taking a breath, realizing the 5 second rule in fact sometimes is actually a 30 second rule.....or a wipe it off (sometimes with your own mouth) and give it back to your kid to avoid the meltdown, the complete and remarkable ability to zone out everything around you and go to your happy space inside your head only to come back into a conversation and never show you ever left it, and lastly the carefree attitude that you don't care that your house looks lived in.....because it IS!!!  Although my child loves to find each one of my nerves and bounce on it till it snaps like a rubber band, I have completely enjoyed being a mother. After seeing a post from a fellow mommy on facebook today, it took me back to so many "mommy" moments that I had to share!

* When Colby was a year old we took him to the fair for the first time. We were very excited to do this because the fair is and always has been a very big deal to Jason and I. After being there for about 30 minutes I realized Colby needed a new diaper. What did I quickly realize? I forgot to pack diapers!!!

* When I worked in Hattiesburg I had made the drive to work one day using the drive to think and plan out my work day. After arriving what did I realize? Colby was still in my backseat!!! I never even took him to daycare. All the way back to Laurel I went. After that day I had a complete new outlook on the people who claimed "they forgot their child was in the car." It totally happens. I did a double take every morning after that.

* One day on the way to work I had put my babbling toddler in his car seat and headed to daycare. I had been watching him laugh and talk in the rear view mirror. I turned a sharp curve and when I looked again suddenly my child was gone. Where did he go you ask..... he was dangling upside down between the backseat and passenger seat. I had forgot to buckle the carseat into the car!!! My poor child didn't miss a beat. I had to slam on breaks like a mad woman and turn him right side up. I think I laughed and cried at the same time that day.

* I have went to work/church many a day with either mine or his clothes on backwards or inside out. You know you have done it too....

I will stop now before you call social services. Colby is alive and well and will be 5 years old in less than 2 weeks. I think these "mommy" moments are common amongst us all but they do not make us bad mommy's...... just mommy's.  You learn not to sweat the small stuff and be so thankful for what you have.

I will leave you with a few pictures from September. See you in October!!

This was a fun park play date with his girlfriend Eilleen!

He learned to spell 3 letter words at school that day. He was super stoked that he could spell CAT

Strep finally made it to our daycare and unfortunately to Colby. You can see by this picture what kind of patient he is. He preceeded to call the doctor an old man......to his face.

A trip to Hobby Lobby. I thought this was appropriate for Colby.

My baby sister turned 16. I could not be any prouder of her than what I am. I love her so much.

Attended a great paint class at church that we are going to do monthly. It is open to the public so you should come join us. I had such a great time and impressed my own self.

Lion King in 3D!! Although we only watched maybe 20 minutes of the movie before Colby got sick and we had to leave, it was just as wonderful as when I was a kid.

Water Fun Day at Church. This was such a fantastic idea.

A fun day where he actually was good in town
